Manchitas

Privacy policy

Manchitas keeps your pets' history. For that it needs a few things about you and the records you enter about your animals. This page says exactly which, why, and how to make them go away.

Last updated: 13 October 2026.

Who runs Manchitas

Manchitas is an independent project built by Sergey Korotaev. For anything to do with your data, write to privacy@mimanchitas.com.

What we collect

DataWhere it comes from
Email address, the name you choose to display, time zone and languageYou type them when you create the account
Your password, stored only as an Argon2id hashYou type it when you create the account. We do not keep it and cannot read it
Your pets' records: name, species, breed, date of birth, measurements, notes and remindersYou enter them
Who you share each pet with, and what you let them doYou decide it when you invite someone
Device identifier, operating system, time zone and push notification tokenThe app, so it can deliver your reminders
IP address and the time of each request, in the server logsAutomatic — inherent to any connection
Crash reports: device model, system version and where the program failedOnly when the app closes unexpectedly

Crash reports are scrubbed before they leave the phone: they carry no pet name, no email address, and no recovery or invitation codes.

What we do not collect

We do not sell data and we hand it to nobody for advertising. Ever.

What we use the data for

Who we share it with

Nobody beyond what it takes to run the app. This is the full list of providers, and each receives only what it needs:

ProviderWhat for
Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany)The server and the database
Backblaze B2Backups, encrypted before they leave the server
ResendThe password-reset and account-deletion emails
SentryCrash reports
Apple and GoogleDelivering push notifications to your phone
CloudflareDomain names

We would also hand over data where the law compels us to.

Where it is kept and for how long

The server and the database are in Germany. Your data is kept for as long as your account is open.

When you delete the account, the data leaves the database at that moment. It goes on existing in the encrypted backups for a while, because a backup you could edit would not do the job a backup exists to do: hourly copies are kept for 7 days and daily copies for 92 days, after which they destroy themselves. We say so here because it is true and because almost no policy says it.

Deleting your account

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. It asks for your password, and the deletion is immediate and final.

Deleted are your account, your devices, and every pet where you were the only person with access, along with all its measurements and reminders. Pets you shared with other people go on existing for them, but your access is gone and your name no longer appears against the changes you made.

If you have already uninstalled the app, write to privacy@mimanchitas.com from the account's email address. Fuller instructions are on the deletion page.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or have it erased. Erasure is in the app itself and needs nobody's permission; for anything else write to privacy@mimanchitas.com and we answer within 30 days.

If you live in Colombia, Ley 1581 de 2012 protects you and you may go to the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR and your national supervisory authority do.

Children

Manchitas is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so inside the app before the change takes effect. The date above always says when it was last updated.

For anything at all: privacy@mimanchitas.com.
